Some front yards just need a full reset. Old grass that never quite looked right, no real structure, nothing that says the homeowner actually cares about what's out front. That's exactly what we were working with here - a yard that needed more than a trim. It needed a complete do-over.

We pulled everything out and started fresh. The old lawn was gone, and in its place we built something with actual bones. Natural stone steps cut through the space and give it a sense of direction. A dry creek bed adds texture and handles drainage the right way. And fresh artificial turf gives the yard a clean, green anchor that stays that way year-round - no watering, no brown patches.

The planting is what ties it all together. We put in dozens of perennial and native plants throughout the beds. Native plants are low-maintenance by design - they're built for this climate, so they don't need babying. As they fill in over time, the whole yard gets better without a lot of extra work from the homeowner.

What we ended up with is a front yard that actually has a layout. There's flow, there's variety, and every element serves a purpose. The stone retaining wall that was already there got new life with fresh planting pockets above it. Even the existing ornamental tree fits into the new design instead of sticking out awkwardly.

This is the kind of residential landscaping work we genuinely enjoy - the full gut-and-rebuild jobs where the difference is dramatic. It's not just about looks either. A front yard like this adds real value to the property and cuts down on the ongoing maintenance burden significantly.
